North West Sexual Violence Awareness Week 2021

Today marks the start of North West Sexual Violence Awareness Week 2021 – where we commit to raising awareness of the sexual violence support services across the North West.

 

Sexual violence support in Cheshire

There are a few specialist sexual violence support services in Cheshire, including:  

  • Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre (RASASC Cheshire and Merseyside)

  • Cheshire Cares – information for victims following a crime

  • Saint Mary's Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC)

Marking North West Sexual Violence Awareness Week in Cheshire

Organisations across Cheshire are coming together to support Sexual Violence Awareness Week on Friday 12th November.

  • 11am – 12pm: A live Q&A will be hosted via Cheshire Police’s Facebook page

  • 12pm – 3pm: A stalled event will take place at the University of Chester campus – open to everyone

  • 8pm – 9pm: A vigil is being held at The Cross in Chester City Centre – for reflection & solidarity

Tips on keeping your children safe online + useful materials to help you have open conversations at home.

 

Book four

The phrase ‘sexual violence’ is an umbrella term. It refers to crimes such as sexual abuse and assault. This booklet explains which offences fall within this definition.
